I initiated my tax process for the year 2023 with an individual named Lucca. Initially, he was very cordial and supportive; however, his assistance diminished significantly once the task of submitting the return was completed. Since then, he has shown a lack of interest in addressing issues related to this tax return, which is now five months overdue. While I understand that he cannot expedite the IRS’s processing of the return, his repeated assertion that "this is your responsibility to resolve" after erroneously entering an incorrect address for one part of the transfer has been unhelpful. Despite acknowledging the mistake, he has dismissed it as irrelevant to the current delay. I have since sought the services of another tax professional. The first course of action taken by this new advisor, after I authorized a Power of Attorney, was to contact the IRS to ascertain the nature of the blockage, which was done at no additional cost. Meanwhile, my previous advisor, who was keen to collect a fee regardless of the outcome, has been notably absent and unhelpful throughout this process. Upon learning of my decision to leave a review, Lucca’s demeanor changed markedly, and he has now suggested scheduling an appointment. This reaction is puzzling, given the five months it took him to acknowledge the need for assistance. Furthermore, the firm employs an automatic billing system, which charges fees by a predetermined date regardless of whether the return has been processed. This system would be reasonable if there were adequate support provided for such issues, which, regrettably, there has not been. This experience has been profoundly disappointing and raises significant concerns about the ethical standards of the firm. It is disheartening to leave this review and potentially tarnish the reputation of the entire firm, as I am certain that not all employees share Lucca’s shortcomings. However, based on my experience, the level of service has been unacceptably poor and lacking in professional integrity.
