Customer Reviews for Personal Financial Services

Reviews

PFS works with our family to manage billing and expenses for an adult daughter as part of a trust. They have consistently acted helpfully and professionally even when faced with challenging personal interactions. We appreciate their work.

Personal Financial Services always makes sure to go over my taxes with me and help me plan for my future. I appreciate all that they do. I also appreciate that this business assists others who need help managing their finances and life that may not have capacity to do so on their own. Thank you for stepping up to help others when not many people are able to do that today. - A

The breath of Elizabeth knowledge skills and compassion is impressive. I’ve always known she has a good heart based on all of the clients and very difficult situations that she has helped. I got to see her in action with a mutual client last week and I was amazed. She clearly and concisely had all of the financials organized and helped set a clear path for my client Wile, including him in the process and being respectful of all parties involved. I cannot recommend her enough.

This place has forced upon me when my mother contracted early-onset Alzheimer’s disease and her brother and my younger sister assumed control over her finances. It was deemed that I was not mentally stable enough to take responsibility for the payment of my own expenses nor to own a personal bank account, although I run a successful e-commerce business. I receive a small amount of money from my mother every week, which while is appreciated, is also unnecessary and I have told both parties to please stop these payments. Because of past circumstances, I am not able to communicate directly with either my sister nor my uncle and this message has apparently not been received. I was assigned a “counselor” who apparently does double duty as the officer manager as well. Upon meeting with said “counselor”, I was presented with paperwork that outlined their process (although I was told it would be specifically tailored to my situation.) My bank account was removed from me and I was given a new card. I was then informed that I would have to turn in receipts documenting my purchases and that the card could not be used online. My entire business consists of online transactions. The counselor further informed me that she would be available for merely one day a week for any of my questions or concerns. To make matters more humiliating at this time I was a 43year old woman living in my own home! However, due to pressure from my family I agreed and acquiesced to these demands turning everything over to PFS for bill payment. Over the last few years the only things they’ve done right are paying the bills, and for my pets food. I can’t even reach them when I need to pay for a doctor that I’ve seen for 15 years, who doesn’t take any insurance. They have so far managed to get out of paying for my insurance bill, since I applied for and found that I was on the HIP plan by myself, something which they had apparently promised my uncle and sister that they were going to help me do, and never did. As neither my uncle nor my sister reside in this state, my sister has never met said “counselor” and my uncle has always been duly impressed by the the acting ability of this person on his infrequent visits to consult with her. Just STAY AWAY! There’s a reason for this 2 star review and a purpose behind the 2.5 star rating. My uncle should not have to pay for one person to do a half of a job that the rest of us are already doing.

Elizabeth has been doing my taxes for 10 years. The team are easy to work with - they give me clear guidance on what's needed - I share the relevant information and they deliver a completed tax return - it's simple & straightforward. And she usually gives guidance and things to think about for the following year. Professional and straightforward - an excellent service.

As a business owner and still having to deal with the issues of 2020 taxes that were royally messed up because this Service provider didn't take the time to do them correctly. Also not only did I turn all documentation in on March 1st 2020 but the taxes were not completed until Nov 2020. Asking multiple times for the exact same items that had already been given and emailed. It has literally cost my family thousands of dollars and even had the IRS put a hold on our account for money that we didn't owe. We used this service for 3 years and had issues for all three. We are still trying to recover from it

I would agree with the "steer clear" advice. 3 years of tax returns, every one of which required at least one amendment. When I inquired about a missing refund I was given incorrect information repeatedly, for months on end, until I discovered that the amended return had not actually been filed. This relationship cost me a great deal of time, effort, cash, and distress.

Elizabeth is a commensurate professional and font of knowledge for the elderly, disabled and underprivileged. She always advocates for the best interests of her clients. She works tirelessly for them. I could think of no one better to be on my team

Elizabeth and her team are not only knowledgeable about estate and tax affairs - especially for the elderly- but they are also very thorough in every aspect. Elizabeth has provided excellent advice in dealing with estate matters with an out of state elderly parent. I would highly recommend Personal Financial Services!

Personal Financial Services has done my taxes 3 or 4 years in a row now. They have always been helpful and answered all of my questions. I am using them again this year!
