Used Edgewater CPA for our taxes in 2021 for the first time. Used them for a problem with the IRS and they successfully negotiated with them. I would highly recommend them for any of your tax needs.

Greetings! Full disclosure, Patrick Wanzer is my incredible brother. I always knew he was talented in what he did and believed that anyone that had the privilege of working with Patrick, was in good hands. I never thought that I would need his help. I am posting to let the world know how incredible it is working with Edgewater and specifically Patrick Wanzer. I had a circumstance arise that involved my personal investments and the IRS. As soon as I discovered the problem, I immediately reached out to Patrick, thinking it might be a while to get "on his list" of those he can help. Patrick instantly reached out to me offering advice and assistance. That same evening he came to my house, with a drafted letter, that helped diffuse the situation. The next day, he joined me in personally delivering the letter to the appropriate party and was able to speak on my behalf...as this entire ordeal is way over my head. I have nothing but good to say about Edgewater CPA Group! Both Zack and Patrick have been so helpful in this process. Zack was able to listen to my situation and matched me with Patrick. Patrick addressed my complex tax issues in a professional, timely, effective, and most importantly kind way. I am a psychotherapist in private practice and there has been challenges getting my taxes aligned appropriately with my business model. Patrick was able to see straight through the challenges; developed a plan; his plan was approved by IRS; and he then established practices going forward for my LLC which help avoid any future discrepencies. I received a tax warrant in the mail, which was baffling because I know I paid my taxes. After further investigation, it was my fault for allocating the payment incorrectly. Brook got me in contact with Patrick immediately and Patrick completely resolved the issue. I was very pleased with the clear communication with them both as well as their swift action. User beware of this group! I am a small business owner who now has to find a tax attorney to help resolve my issue. Initially when I started with them in 2020 for my 2019 tax return, the process went well. The communication got even worse. I decided to use them for my 2020 return. I, then, got handed over to a new accountant that I was not even introduced to. I really wanted to talk face to face with my new accountant. I met with him in November 2021. He assured me I would owe about what I did for 2020. Imagine my surprise when I found out I not only owed twice the amount, but according to the IRS, I now a total of 4 times the amount. My accountant has since been fired. He did not even sign my 2021 tax return. I dont even have confidence that any of my husbands or my business tax returns were prepared correctly. I am sure my property tax probably was not filed correctly.

This place does not have their act together. They have had significant turnover in the last few years with multiple bookkeeper changes with little to no communication when changes occur (emails just go unreturned). They continue to send us invoices even though we settled up with them and terminated our business with them over 6 months ago.

I wish the level of service from previous years was still the level of service they care to provide for clients. Communication was never very strong. I emailed several times asking that if they could not accommodate my business, to let me know so I can look elsewhere. I was assured they were going to improve communication and services only to be so utterly disappointed I had to find a new firm. They never once reached out during tax season, never filed the s corp they were supposed to, and never started payroll. I am sure if you're a larger business, they will be much more invested in your services. But if you are a small business, you do not matter to them. Not even enough for them to respond to emails.

The group at Edgewater has simplified my life so much! I know I can count on them for any help that is needed with regard to payroll processing. They have been so helpful, especially last minute (sorry) with small changes that we just caught or big items that would have been a pain to fix after the fact. They are our trusted partner and I cant do it without them.
