We got Amit’s contact from a reference. He seemed great at first but things have been downhill since. After evaluating our returns he promised a big tax credit, but nothing of that sought came through. When he billed, it was more than $6k! We were shocked. That is not even the worst part. He doesn’t answer calls, doesn’t reply to texts or email, doesn’t meet timelines. It’s so stressful dealing with him. Yes, I’m writing this review out of frustration, but that’s because he hasn’t resolved our tax issue since 6 months. This is about a notice from the IRS based on the returns he filed.

Amit took his time speaking with me on our initial meeting. I had just had a major restructuring buyout in my business. He dove right in making sure everything was in order. Very knowledgeable and understanding. I will be recommending his services to all my friends and family.

We recently sold our rental property which had appreciated significantly in value over the past 20 years. What we did not take into account was how much our tax liability would be and how this sale would impact our retirement income. I contacted several accountants but was not able to get their full attention regarding what looked like a simple transaction but turned out to be extremely detailed. Couple of the other professionals I had contacted did not want to take on job after learning about the specifics. Then I came across an Amit Johar who really took the time to understand what I was trying to do. Amit was proactive in his approach to asking questions and went deep into the transactions. Right from our first meeting he set appropriate expectations with options and their implications. We met several times over the course of three months. In the duration he covered every aspect of our lives for the past 20 years. From switching jobs, to kids to retirement to second home and more. Life events that I had never even considered he took the time to discuss and understand. I was told by other accountants that I could end up paying out between $20k-$50k. We are both retired and don’t have those kind of resources. At the end we were both pleased with the outcome Amit provided us with. His strategy worked… The result that Amit delivered was far beyond my expectations. When all other professionals were unsure of the outcome, Amit delivered. I would urge anyone with nearly impossible situation to contact Amit. “He’s just “GOOD”.

After working for so many years, I finally decided to open my own small business (Charlotte’s Web Child Care Center) in 2016. Business has done well but like all first year entrepreneurs it came with its own sets of challenges. Being a teacher I understand children but businesses finances are new to me. Although we have done well operationally but when it came to accounting we had undetected issues. I had to run my business on a shoe string budget. I did not realize that there are business risks when it comes to accounts receivables and timing differences just compounded the problems for us. I had an accountant that would do our monthly bookkeeping and taxes at year end but I still ran into financially paralyzing issues. If I did not get a hold of my business issues I would be out of business in the next 2 years. I had asked a vendor for a recommendation and he had highly recomended Amit. He mentioned that Amit specializes in Small Businesses and financial planning. Our first meeting lasted over an hour. He took his time to diagnose systematic problems. In few weeks we developed a specific strategy that addressed the very issues that were plaguing my businesses. Since then not only have all my issues been addressed but instead of making a “narrow decision” I make a well-rounded decision for continued growth. I would recommend Amit to anyone starting a new business. He is a great advisor who is easy to talk with and will help you think through decisions clearly.

Being a first year post doctorate from Egypt and having gotten my medical education in the United States, I know a lot about medical side of things but not the US tax code. After speaking to several colleges and then interviewing multiple tax professionals in Boston, I ended up with more questions than answers. One of my coworkers had recommended Amit Johar EA. I spoke to Amit about the particulars of my situation. I started my business few years back. Previously I worked with several CPAs and then got introduced to Amit through a mutual contact. Since then I have been working with Amit and it has been great. He knows my business intricacies and how each decision will impact me. Being a new business I have lots of questions, Its always good to be able to pickup the phone and have a quick conference call to discuss business issues. This is our first year in business. The business has been doing great. We use to work with an accounting firm locally but it was strictly transactional. We were doing things incorrectly and no one brought it to our attention. Working with Amit has been great.
