I reached out to Padgett with some questions about starting a small business. I spoke with Joe, Karen, and Lauren, and they were just the loveliest. They were patient and answered any and all questions I had. We had a scheduled 30 minute call, and they stayed on the phone with for for an hour. Truly above and beyond and what seems like would be an intimidating experience, they made comfortable. They also let me know I could reach out to them with questions, they genuinely want to help. 100% recommend!

They are really nice people but I wouldn’t recommend using them for business purposes. I never felt that I was taken seriously as a small business owner, they waited until the last second to do my taxes even though I sent them everything they needed months in advance. Then they made a mistake and forgot to file my state taxes and I was hit with late fees and a bad letter from the IRS. When I asked them what was going on they apologized for the mistake and then said they would take care of it. A month later I got another notice from the IRS stating that I still had overdue taxes! I decided to take it into my own hands and figure out how to pay it. The day I paid it I got an email from Padgett saying they had paid it using my account information so I ended up double paying state taxes for 2017 along with the late fees. They said they would send a check to reimburse me for the late fees and that I should get one of the two payments to New York State refunded but it has been a couple of months now and I still have not received a check from them for reimbursement of late fees, nor have I been refunded one of the double payments. Very disappointing experience.

Coming from a really frustrating experience with another big accounting firm I couldn’t not be happier. I absolutely love how knowledgable, professional and yet personal Joe am Karen are. I always communicate with one of them directly without a middleman. Always all of my questions are answered in great details. I feel that they truly care which is so rare today. I would not go anywhere else!
